What is rainbow friends?

Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization based in Kurtistown, Hawaii that provides a forever home for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. They primarily focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but also care for other animals such as birds, rabbits, and horses.

The sanctuary was founded in 1999 by Mary Rose Krijgsman, who was inspired to start the organization after witnessing the mistreatment of animals in her community. Since then, Rainbow Friends has rescued and re-homed thousands of animals, while also providing medical care, food, and shelter for those who cannot be adopted.

In addition to their rescue efforts, Rainbow Friends also offers educational programs to teach the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering. They rely on donations and volunteers to sustain their operations and continue their mission of providing a safe and loving environment for animals in need.
